Glamping comes from ‘glamorous’ and ‘camping’. At Wild Canvas the glamour comes in the comfort of a fully fitted bathroom and comfortable bed, while retaining the truly enjoyable and memorable elements of camping like sitting under the stars and toasting marshmallows over an open fire.

enjoy the wonders of the outdoors without sacrificing creature comforts.

At Wild Canvas, we offer the excitement of camping without the hassle of packing or setting up the required equipment. Our "ready camping" or "glamping" experience offers an en-suite bathrooms, sumptuous bedding, and all the home luxuries you would expect.

Indulge in fresh organic farm eggs collected from our farm or create your favuorite pizza in the pizza oven.

We are Emily and Benjamin, proud hosts of Wild Canvas, a family-owned glamping destination located in the heart of Waitomo, New Zealand.

Nestled on a 700-hectare third-generation family farm, our glampsites offer a unique and unforgettable guest experience with breathtaking panoramic views of New Zealand's countryside. Located just ten minutes away from the town centre, Wild Canvas is the perfect escape for those seeking a tranquil getaway.

We built our first luxury safari tent in 2017, and we're thrilled to have recently completed our second site in February 2023. Our aim has always been to exceed expectations when it comes to glamping design, and we pride ourselves on creating an unforgettable and luxurious guest experience.
THE FARM
Our glampsite is a unique New Zealand experience, surrounded by sheep, cows, and even lambs frolicking in the fields. Wildlife enthusiasts will have a chance to spot wild goats, deer, turkeys, and a gorgeous range of native birds such as wood pigeons, tui, kingfisher, and fantails.

Our safari tent is perched on top of a hill with expansive views in every direction. You can savor the picturesque views of the farmland and wildlife while creating culinary masterpieces in the pizza oven, gathering around the outdoor fire, or taking a dip in the outdoor hot tub or baths.
